Testing with Honorlock for a Student who Uses a Text or Screen Reader
For a text or screen reader to work, Browser Guard will need to be disabled for the exam. You may complete one of the two options listed below:
- Create a duplicated exam and post it to the one student. This will allow you to disable Browser Guard for the one student in the event that you would like to keep it enabled for the remainder of the class.
- List the name of the accommodated student within the Proctoring Guidelines of the exam and the Honorlock support team will be able to disable it for the student as needed.
HOW TO EXTEND TIME ON TEST IN CANVAS
Educational Technology Services (ETS) at UNA home page using the link Accessibility or Faculty Canvas support in CANVAS: http://jcio.eraglobe.com/ets/
Allow additional time to complete a quiz:
- A detailed guide is available here: http://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Instructor-Guide/Once-I-publish-a-timed-quiz-how-can-I-give-my-students-extra/ta-p/999
- Go to your Canvas course, then select Quizzes in the course navigation.
- Click the name of the Quiz where the question is stored.
- On the far ride side of the screen, click "Moderate This Quiz."
- Click the Edit icon (pencil) located to the right of the student's name.
- In the Extra time on every attempt: enter the number of minutes of extra time (note that this number will be added to the time already allotted in the quiz).
- If you are reopening a quiz to be taken late, you can select "manually unlock the quiz for the next attempt." This will tell Canvas to ignore date restrictions for the selected students, allowing them to take the test at any time.
- Click Save. You should now see a 1 in the number of Attempts Left column
- Repeat for each quiz
